Aileen Lopez-Gumprecht grew up in New York, and inherited the fashion bug from her mother at a very young age. While perusing the boutiques, fashion shows, flea markets, thrift shops and antique stores in New York and around the globe, from a very young age, Aileen knew that fashion, particularly dresses, would always take a prominent position in her life.
After attending Georgetown University as an Art History and Government Major, Aileen worked on Capitol Hill for a bit and then spent a few years in the publishing business working on design and art books with accomplished authors. Inspired by such globally successful authors as Terence Conran, she decided that she could no longer squelch her creative longings and entrepreneurial spirit that pushed her towards the fashion world and starting her own business. So, in Fall 2009 – Voila! Ooh La Shoppe was born.
Aileen loves to travel, sail, ski, peruse flea markets and antique stores and read, finding much inspiration from her travels and adventures in the designers she brings into her boutique. Aileen has found her calling surrounded by beautiful things, and loves nothing more than to find someone the perfect dress or accessory for any occasion or general purpose.
